Nashville 5 seasons, 107 episodes
"Nashville's" singers, songwriters and superstars struggle to reconcile their public and private realities. Some will fight to climb to—or stay on—the top. Some will succumb to their own ambition. And all will learn how to survive in the wake of loss—proving that music may be at the heart of Music City, but drama always reigns.

Desperate for a hit, she reluctantly agrees to go on tour with rising teen star Juliette Barnes, (Hayden Panettiere), only to find herself relegated to opening act status.

Season 5, episode 17 is called “Ghost In This House” and partly involves Deacon (Charles Esten) being pressured to move on romantically after Rayna’s death in the first half of Nashville season 5. This season of Nashville has vaguely floated the idea of some form of connection between Deacon and new character Jessie Caine, and actress Kaitlin Doubleday told Us Magazine that she’s also considered the possibility.
On Wednesday, CMT also announced premiere slots for more scripted shows coming in 2017: new limited series “Million Dollar Quartet” and the second season of scripted comedy “Still The King,” starring Billy Ray Cyrus. Additionally, the Viacom-owned country cabler also announced a pilot order for another scripted series, “His Wives & Daughters.”
With “Nashville” creating much buzz and two more scripted series on deck — and many more in the works, including the recently reported “Varsity Blues” remake — CMT is boasting its most-ever scripted shows.
“After a promising start with ‘Still The King,’ we now have a clear path in attracting new audiences with our scripted programming,” said CMT’s head of development, Jayson Dinsmore. “Beginning with ‘Nashville’ in January, each series will help launch the next; creating an overlay to cycle viewers through our originals year round.”
